理事会中只有一个职务是选举产生的,那就是副主席。所有其他职务均由执行委员会(即主席与副主席)任命。这就是为什么副主席的选举是在其他主管的任命之前进行的。

副主席的选举是在理事会内部进行的,因为我们的用户群太大了,一个高效、公平的选举很难组织与监督。而且,我们相信理事会全有能力找到正确的人,并做出公平的决定,毕竟我们的主管都是论坛上积极的贡献者,可以很容易的找到那些对 CTeX 做出突出贡献的人。但是,我们也欢迎普通会员自荐。

That is right. First of all, only one position is actually “elected”; that is the position of Vice Presidents. All other positions are appointed by the Executive Committee; i.e., the President and the Vice Presidents. That is why the appointment of Vice Presidents take place before the appointment of other directors.

Even the election of Vice Presidents will occur within the Board of Directors, because an efficient and fair election is difficult to organize and monitor considering how large the size of our member pool is. In addition, we believe that the Board is quite capable of seeking for the right person and making a fair decision. After all, our directors are very active contributors on the forum, and can easily identify those who are making substantial contribution to CTeX. However, we do welcome any nomination from the general membership.

你们对主管们有要求吗?毕竟他们都是志愿者。(Do you have any requirements for directors? After all, they are all volunteers ...)

很不幸,我们对主管们确实有一定的要求。我们理解我们的主管都是志愿者,他们大多数为学会工作都是出于热情与善良。但是我们也希望我们的他们理解主管之职务确实是一个工作(虽然是义务的)。所以,我们决定任何一位主管都可以有三个月的时间没有任何积极的工作(即不满意他或她的工作要求),三个月在我们看来是比较长的时间了。

Unfortunately there are. We do understand that all of our directors are volunteers and most of them are working for the Society because of their passion and kindness. But we also hope our directors understand that the position of a director is a job (although unpaid). Therefore, we’ve made the decision that a director could be inactive (i.e., not meeting his or her job requirement) for a maximum of three months, which is a pretty long time.
